Labels you will see
Parody and satire are jokes with a point. Opinion is argued, not sourced. AI-generated audio and imagery are labeled whenever they could be mistaken for a recording or a photograph.
Participation
No account is needed. Your browser gets an anonymous identity that lets you upvote, react, and comment. Counts reflect browser identities, not people, and clearing cookies starts you over. New visitors’ comments wait for review; trusted visitors can post directly. Edits to approved comments wait for review. Names are unverified; staff names are reserved.
What we keep
We store your anonymous browser identity, your votes, reactions, and comments. For abuse controls we keep short-lived, keyed hashes of IP addresses that are eligible for deletion after 24 hours and cleared during participation or maintenance. We also limit activity per browser identity; rate-limit records are kept separately from comments and votes. Your browser also keeps your display name, unsent comment drafts and player volume locally; clearing site data removes them. Our hosting provider and proxy keep ordinary access logs. Private backups can retain older records until they are rotated.
Corrections
If a source turns out to be wrong, we update the source or claim and add a dated correction in the item’s context or Behind the lyrics. You can flag a problem in the item’s comments.
